Case study:
As an example, let's assume that a Food & Beverage company ABC Foods is planning a business expansion scheme and needs to introduce a comprehensive Time & Attendance Management System to monitor Employee attendance and costs.
If they install a range of Networked NITGEN Terminals at offices & factories, all Staff attendance may be securely monitored from a central source by the appropriate Departmental Administrator and the data collected may be sorted by Employee, by Group, by Department, by Terminal, by User ID etc;
Prohibitive Time Zones (Public / Bank Holidays etc) can be easily set up to restrict un-authorised access by selective employees under the control of the HR Department.

 "What is a Time-zone?"

A Time Zone is a pre defined period of time (which can be split up into Minutes/Hours/Days) to control or enable Access for Individuals (and Terminals). The time-zone function consists of User time-zone and Terminal time-zone.
   - User time-zone: Designates Access privileges for each individual user.
   - Terminal time-zone: Designates access privilege via each terminal and has a special time-zone which designates
                                         multi-authentication types hourly at each terminal.

 Preconditions

   - ACM Professional supports a terminal time-zone function and user time-zone function to limit the access time via
    our reader (terminal).
   - "Terminal time-zone" takes priority over "User time-zone".

Setting Criteria of Authentication Time-Zone

In the last release, we learned how to apply "Time-Zone code" to Terminals & Users. In this latest guidance release on Time-Zone functionality, we will learn how to set different authentication mechanisms across different time zones.

1. Authentication Time-zone

1) Option Setting
      - Firstly, you have to Activate the Function. This is done by "checking" the USE TAB in the OPTIONS SETTING MENU as
      indicated below.

2) Authentication Timezone
      - Select a [Time-Zone Setting] button on the Time-Zone Setting menu [Access Denied / Open / Allowed].
      - When selected, you can "check" any combination of the various authentication options [FP - PW - RF] available at
        each terminal for specifying set-time and [Auth Type] when the image button is activated.
      - If [Auth Type] is selected with [OR/ AND | FP - PW - RF], that specific mechanism is the only option which will
        work during the defined Time Frames.

       - Activate [Auth Type]and select the Options you wish to use.
      - The Time Points selected will automatically be "colour coded" in as above. If you refer to the chart below you will
        see how the options are configured and combined.
       - From above image, 07:00~20:00 shows different colours based on day of the week and method of authentication.
             ■ Tuesday : FP or PW
             ■ Wednesday : FP or RFID
             ■ Thursday : FP or PW or RFID
      * Supported Terminal
          - Fingkey Access : Firmware ver 4.823-x000  supercede "release support " to "or higher"
          - Fingkey Access Plus : Firmware ver 5.823-x000 supercede "release support " to "or higher"

For an example, Sub-Contractors or Janitors/Cleaners with RFID card can only Access during designated times. On Sunday or Holidays, only designated people (like administrators) can access if "authentication" requires all 3 Options of FP, PW & RFID.

We hope this article proves useful for your ACM pro Software Settings usage.
Thank you.
